Reportedly, Iran positively responded to Azerbaijans request on construction of a border hydroelectric power plant on Araz River in Ordubad area, said Marlen Askerov, vice-president, Azerenerji AO. Azeri and Iranian power engineers are expected to meet in short to discuss the matter.
Azerenerji AO is going to build a new 36MW power plant.
Since the river plant is suggested to be built upon is flowing along the border, Iranian engineers were given documents with TEO on the project.
The project cost will be advised upon completion of all related documentation.
