The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to receive from BTC Company, a special privileged tariff for pumping its oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline. A SOCAR official said that SOCAR, as a shipper, will have lower tariffs than other participants while delivering its oil via the BTC, Trend reports.
The tariff will not be privileged for all shippers, but will be for SOCAR, the same source stressed.
Touching upon the cargo deliveries from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, an official of SOCAR said that oil pumping tariffs will be commercial for such shippers

The cost of oil pumping via the BTC should be more reasonable than the cost of oil transportation by rail.
A special agreement will be signed between the SOCAR and BTC for the transportation of SOCAR's oil.
At present the volume of oil that SOCAR is planning to transport from its fields via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is still questionable. If BTC Company promotes the increase of discharge capacity of the pipeline, we will try to deliver the maximum possible volume of oil with consideration to the economic efficiency of the transportation, an official of SOCAR stated.
