Central Bank of Iran unveils amount of loans issued in housing, construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 754 trillion rials (about $17.9 billion) in the housing and construction sector in Iran, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 166 trillion rials (about $3.94 billion) worth of loans was issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 7 months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 254 trillion rials (about $6 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 136 trillion rials (about $3.24 billion) worth of loans was issued for repair work and 53.8 trillion rials (about $1.28 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 103 billion rials (about $2.45 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 135 trillion rials (about $3.23 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 8.24 trillion rials (about $196 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 14.8 quadrillion rials (about $353 billion) in various economic sectors in the first seven months of the current Iranian year. This figure stood at 5.47 quadrillion rials (about $130 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
