By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s Sumaks IT company will introduce facial recognition technology for audience analysis and demonstration of advertisements in the country, Javid Mammadov, head of the company, told Trend Nov. 13.
He said that video cameras using the technology can be used on the street, on a wall or shelves in any retail outlets.
“For example, the cameras will be able to calculate how many people or cars passed by a billboard, how many people were interested in an advertising, etc.,” Mammadov said. “Facial recognition technology is a more advanced version of people counters, the devices that measure the number of visitors in a given area in shopping malls.”
The statistical data obtained by the devices with facial recognition technology can be useful for entrepreneurs, for example, those preparing to start a business or an advertising campaign in any place.
