New cryptocurrency (bitcoin) mining farm to be established in Azerbaijan, a source in the country's IT market told Trend.
The source said the mining farm will be located in the Pirallahi technopark.
"The equipment for the mining farm will be installed on the allotted area of 300 square meters. The exact timing of the farm commissioning has not been determined yet, but it is possible that it will be put into operation by the end of the year," the source said.
The project, according to the source, will provide the installation of several hundred pieces of equipment for mining, which will require investment of one million manats.
"The mining farm will be provided with electricity from alternative energy sources. We are talking about the use of wind and solar energy, " the source said.
Currently, the cryptocurrency mining farm operates within the Sumgait Technologies Data Center (STDC) at the Sumgayit chemical and industrial park. The project, as previously reported, is being implemented with the support of “Azerenerji”.
