Oracle opening office in Azerbaijan

Oracle Corp is opening its office in Azerbaijan in 2007 fiscal year, Trend reports with reference to Oracles release. The similar office will be opened in Belarus.

Over 25 companies across the CIS today lead their business using Oracle business solutions.

During fiscal year 2007, Oracle is going to strengthen its positions on all the markets in Russia and entire CIS and it additionally announced verticalization of sales in all business units. Oracle plans to intensify SME market of databases and software through new capabilities of Oracle DBMS and Oracle Fusion Middleware family.

Opening office in Azerbaijan also was stated by Boris Sherbakov, Oracle vice-president and CEO for CIS countries, during the Oracle Days in Azerbaijan. The company representative estimated Azerbaijans ITmarket as attractive and said Azerbaijan is a priority market for the company due to its significant economic growth compared to other countries of South Caucasus. Besides, he said the companys office in Azerbaijan might get opened in a view of increase of work scope.

Oracle has an experience of cooperation with Azerbaijan through 6 current partners; Oracles technologies implemented in a number of governmental authorities and companies like Presidents Administration, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Interior, State Oil Fund, National Bank of Azerbaijan, Azercell Telecom JV, Barmek Azerbaijan and so.

The release says attractiveness of Oracle business-solutions in the CIS market has risen in ended fiscal year. During the year, 35 enterprises across the CIS preferred the said solutions. Oracle business-solutions sales in the region grew by 50%.
