Iran's IRISL holds talks with India on North-South corridor

TEHRAN, Iran, Feb. 28

An Indian delegation has met with the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) to discuss the common strategic goals on the development of the north-south transit corridor, using the Chabahar port potentials, Trend Reports citing IRNA.

The representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran held a meeting with an Indian delegation on the North-South Transit Corridor issue, including the joint investment in container construction by IRSIL and India.

Iran called for the removal of barriers for Iranian vessels in some Indian ports.

India Ports Global Ltd was primarily formed to participate in the Chabahar Port development project with the objective of providing an alternative and reliable access route to land-locked Afghanistan.
