Turkish port of Botas shares data on volume of transshipment since beginning of 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The Turkish port of Botas handled 3.9 million tons of cargo from January through April 2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, 45,526 tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the port of Botas and 3.9 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

"Turkish port of Botas handled 15.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through April 2022," the ministry said.

The ports of Turkey handled 32.06 million tons of cargo in April 2022.

Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through local ports amounted to 2.09 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 29.9 million tons.

Turkish ports handled 7.1 million tons of transit cargo in April 2022.

Turkish ports handled 130.8 million tons of cargo from January through April 2022. Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 6.05 million tons during this period.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 121.8 million tons.

Turkish ports handled 27.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through April 2022.

Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
