BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. An active discussion is underway on the construction project of the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power plant in Kyrgyzstan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan's Cholpon-Ata, on July 21, Trend reports.
"Kazakhstan also attaches particular importance to the implementation of joint hydropower projects for the mutually beneficial use of water resources of transboundary rivers," he said.
The construction project of the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power plant in Kyrgyzstan is being actively discussed in this context. Presidents of three states discussed this problem in detail yesterday, and came to preliminary specific and very useful powers of attorney," Tokayev noted.
He emphasized that the hydroelectric power plant will strengthen the energy security of the countries of Central Asia, and improve conditions for expanding agricultural production.
