Kazakhstan getting ready to join the WTO: parliamentary hearings

(kazinform) - An urgent question on preparation for Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will become the uppermost subject of parliamentary hearings which will start in the Majilis on forthcoming Friday, October 20.

Vice Prime Minister Karim Massimov is expected to make a report on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO as an element of promotion of competitiveness of the national economy, reports Trend.

Kazakhstan Industry and Trade Minister Vladimir Shkolnik and Agriculture Minister Akhmetzhan Yessimov are expected to take the floor too.

Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Baktykozha Izmukhametov and Finance Minister Nataliya Korzhova will report on energy sector issues at Kazakhstan's entry into the WTO, elimination of customs and tax barriers. Natural Monopolies Regulation Agency chair Bakhytjan Sagintayev will also cover the aspects of the subject under consideration.

Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova, Vice Minister of Justice Serik Nugmanov, Finance Vice-Minister Gani Uzbekov will highlight negotiation process, protection of intellectual property rights and liberalization of financial sector.
