BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov has shared the latest information on the volume of potato exports to Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to kabar.kg.
During a briefing in Bishkek, Dzhanybekov informed that to date a total of 9,000 tons of potatoes have been exported from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Ministry announced that within the framework of a Memorandum on the supply of fruits and vegetables signed between the Ministries of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan on September 9, 2022, in Bishkek, in general, 15,000 tons of potatoes will be sent from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan.
"Today, the situation with the export of potatoes leaves much to be desired, because in neighboring markets the price of potatoes is still low, but the harvesting season has passed and prices will traditionally increase soon. We managed to agree on the export of potatoes with the Almaty region, while facilities for storing vegetables are being prepared," he said.
Moreover, Kyrgyzstan also exported potatoes to Uzbekistan in the amount of 11,000 tons and Russia - 2,800 tons.
