BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 29. More than 912,800 citizens from Kyrgyzstan visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Agency of Statistics under the President of Uzbekistan, this is a near 35 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (more than 650,000 tourists).
Tourists from Kyrgyzstan ranked second in terms of tourism flow to Uzbekistan. The highest number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan for tourism purposes during the reporting period were citizens of Tajikistan (1.15 million people). The third-largest number of tourists came to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan (879,000).
During the period under review, Uzbekistan was also visited by tourists from Russia (417,400 people), Türkiye (58,000 people), Turkmenistan (39,600 people), South Korea (20,200 people), India (20,000 people), China (17,700 people), and Germany (14,100 people).
In total, Uzbekistan was visited by 3.7 million foreign citizens for tourism purposes from January through July 2023. This figure increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period in 2022.
Overall, 1.35 million people from Kyrgyzstan visited Uzbekistan in 2022.
