EBRD to care of multiple projects with Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 29. Following a meeting between the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Cabinet of Ministers and the Head of the Administration of Kyrgyzstan's president, Akylbek Japarov, and the President of the EBRD, Odile Renaud-Bassov, a series of documents worth more than 70 million euros were signed between Kyrgyzstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Trend reports.

These documents encompass the following projects:

- "Reconstruction of the ring road in the Issyk-Kul region from the village of Balbay Baatyr to the city of Karakol" (47.3 million euros).

- "Digitization of the electricity supply in Kyrgyzstan" (14.63 million euros).

- "Rehabilitation of the water supply systems in the city of Bazar-Korgon" (8.5 million euros).

During the meeting, Japarov highlighted that the EBRD has been a longstanding and reliable partner for Kyrgyzstan, providing significant support across all key development areas for the country.

"The economic policy of Kyrgyzstan is currently aimed at addressing strategic tasks. The implementation of planned reforms, primarily focused on accelerating economic growth through supporting entrepreneurship, attracting direct investments, significantly increasing export volumes, and launching major investment projects in the energy and transportation infrastructure sectors," Japarov said.

In turn, the president of EBRD Odile Renaud-Basso noted that the fruitful bilateral cooperation would continue.
