BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has published a forecast on Tajikistan's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023, Trend reports citing EDB.

According to the bank's forecast, Tajikistan's GDP growth in the next year is expected at the level of 6.5 percent.

Notably, economic growth in Tajikistan in the coming year will be the highest among the member countries of this regional financial institution.

"The economies of Armenia and Kazakhstan in 2023 are projected to grow at the level of 4.2 percent, Kyrgyzstan - 3.5 percent, Belarus - 0.3 percent, and the Russian economy is predicted to decline at the level of - 2 percent," the EDB reports.

The relatively high growth of the Tajik economy is explained by the expansion of capacities in leading industries and the implementation of government programs.

At the same time, the inflation rate in Tajikistan is projected to slow down in 2023 to 6 percent from 6.9 percent at the end of this year.

"The slowdown compared to 2022 will be facilitated by the monetary policy of the National Bank of Tajikistan, focused on keeping the growth in prices for goods and services for consumers within the target parameters," the EDB said.
