DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 12. The National Bank of Tajikistan has reduced the refinancing rate, Trend reports.

According to the bank, during a scheduled meeting of the bank's committee, it was decided to reduce the refinancing rate by 0.5 percent, from ten percent to 9.5 percent. The verdict goes into effect on February 12.

The decision is linked, in part, to price stabilization in local and international markets, as well as the level of inflation, which is lower than the intended indicator, according to the National Bank.

Based on the National Bank's most recent data, inflation in December 2023 was 0.4 percent, with the yearly figure for the same month at 3.8 percent. Meanwhile, the regulator's goal inflation rate for the medium term is 6 percent plus or minus 2 percent.

The National Bank of Tajikistan lowered the refinancing rate from 11 percent to 10 percent in May 2023.
