BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Turkmenistan has significantly increased the production and export of electricity, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, from January through May 2022, the growth rate of electricity production amounted to 116.8 percent, and the plan for its export was exceeded by 50.3 percent.
Furthermore, at the moment, work is underway on the construction of a power transmission line from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia. It is expected that by 2025 Turkmenistan will contribute to the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations and distribution facilities.
Currently, Turkmen's electricity is exported to Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
