ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 11. Representatives of the state energy sector of Afghanistan have signed a contract with a local private company to carry out the remaining work on the completion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan power transmission line with a capacity of 500 kW, Trend reports.
According to official data, this project will be completed in two years, and with its implementation, the need for electricity for residents and industrialists in Kabul and other provinces will be solved.
The project will be resumed after a two-year suspension, and the contractor company must invest $75 million, which will be reimbursed by the contracting authority.
Thanks to the investments of the Afghan company, a 500 kW line will be laid over 128 kilometers from Dasht-Alwan to Chowk-Arghandi.
In addition, this project is one of the most significant infrastructure projects to provide electricity to the central, eastern, and southern provinces, including the capital of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, at the end of September, the Head of the Turkmen Energy Ministry’s International Electricity Projects Department in the TAP direction, Myrat Artykov, held a meeting with the Acting Minister of Energy and Water of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, during which they discussed the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission project.
