ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 17. The agro-industrial sphere in Turkmenistan saw a 1 percent surge in production in January 2024, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, Trend reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhallyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on February 16, 2024.
According to him, during the specified month, the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan fulfilled the production plan by 100.2 percent, the Ministry of Environmental Protection - by 123.3 percent, the State Committee of Water Management by 111.6 percent, and the Turkmen Atlary State Association achieved an increase of 102.1 percent.
Moreover, the Deputy Chairman noted that within the framework of the implementation of the program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028, the plan for the development of capital investments was fulfilled by 193 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has strategically prioritized the development of its agro-industrial sector, implementing policies and initiatives aimed at modernizing agricultural practices, increasing productivity, and ensuring food security.
Through extensive investment in infrastructure, such as irrigation systems and agricultural machinery, as well as the adoption of advanced farming techniques and technologies, the country has significantly boosted its agricultural output.
