ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 20. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU member states totaled more than 1.87 billion euros over the past year, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
According to the data, during the specified period, the volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries increased by almost 87 percent compared to 2022 (1 billion euros).
EU imports from Turkmenistan in 2023 reached almost 1.2 billion euros, an increase of 3 times compared to the corresponding period in 2022, when it amounted to 399.8 million euros.
At the same time, Turkmenistan's imports from the EU during the specified period reached a total of 669.3 million euros, which is 10.7 percent more than in the whole of 2022 (604.4 million euros).
Meanwhile, in 2022, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries amounted to 1 billion euros, which is 25.9 percent less than the 2021 figure of 1.35 billion euros.
