BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. The total portfolio of bank loans in Uzbekistan amounted to 340.3 trillion soums ($30.5 billion) from January through March 2022, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
This indicator increased by 20 percent compared to the same period last year (283.5 trillion soums or $25.4 billion).
During this period, the loan portfolio of state-owned banks amounted to 289.7 trillion soums ($25.9 billion), and private banks – 50.5 trillion soums ($4.5 billion).
The volume of non-performing loans (NPL) for the corresponding period amounted to 16.8 trillion soums ($1.5 billion).
This figure increased by 65.4 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (10.2 trillion soums or $911.2 million).
