BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. Uzbekistan has decided to allocate 10 trillion Uzbek soums ($890 million) for the development of entrepreneurship in 2023, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said at a meeting on macroeconomic forecasts for the year-end and for 2023, Trend reports citing Uzbek government.
At the same time, it was decided to distribute 200 trillion Uzbek soums ($1.7 billion) of credit funds through banks to the economy, as well as attract $500 million of long-term resources from international financial organizations.
Tasks have been defined to increase foreign direct investment and loans by 19 percent, to bring them up to $10 billion, and to launch the implementation of new major projects worth $8 billion.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan expects economic growth to reach at least 5.5 percent by the end of 2022, and at least 5.3 percent in 2023.
