ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 3. About 33,510 remittances through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made from Russia to Kazakhstan in March 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 5.638 billion tenge (about $12.7 million).
At the same time, Kazakhstan and Russia conducted 110,720 IMTS transactions totaling 20.05 billion tenge, or roughly $45.2 million.
As a result, Russia ranks first in terms of the volume of money transfers to and from Kazakhstan. In March 2024, Russia's share of remittances to/from Kazakhstan amounted to 28.1 percent and 33.8 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the total volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 196,200 transactions worth 61.5 billion tenge (about $138 million) in March 2024.
Compared to February 2024 (187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge, or $135 million), there has been a 4.6 percent increase in the number of transfers and a 2 percent increase in the volume of transactions.
