ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 2. Turkmenistan's trade turnover with other Central Asian countries increased by 6.4 percent last year compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
This was stated by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, Serdar Jorayev, at the panel session of the III Tashkent International Investment Forum.
According to him, Turkmenistan's trade turnover with other Central Asian countries amounted to more than $1.6 billion last year.
"We have some issues, the solution to which may lead to the expansion of trade relations between our countries. We believe that we need to combine our efforts to develop a system that will allow us to find comprehensive solutions for the development of trade, infrastructure, and the establishment of export channels," he said.
Furthermore, Jorayev noted that Central Asian countries need to make full use of existing transit corridors and logistics infrastructure, adding that a lot of investments have been made in this direction in Turkmenistan, especially in transport infrastructure.
"Turkmenistan has done a very good job of improving the investment climate and business environment, which has allowed the country to expand investment ties and cooperate with other countries and international financial organizations. The country is always open for mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign investors," he concluded.
