ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 3. The South Korean Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and Doosan Enerbility intend to implement a project to inspect and further modernize the Kazakh thermal power plants in Astana, Almaty, Pavlodar and Topar State District Power Plant, Trend reports.

The memorandum of understanding between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, KEPCO, and Doosan Enerbility reflects this intention.

Thus, the companies plan to use innovative environmental solutions to improve the productivity of power plants.

"The environmental solutions of KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility are optimal solutions for the Kazakhstan government, which seeks to reduce the level of air pollution in the country. After signing this memorandum, we will work together to contribute to the development of clean energy projects in Kazakhstan," said Kim Jung-Kwan, Vice President at Doosan Enerbility.

To note, South Korea is a leading specialist in developing green energy solutions and transferring technology to foreign countries. Thus, South Korea built the first nuclear power plant in the UAE and has already launched three of the planned four power units.
