Kazakhstan discloses amount of money transfers with Uzbekistan in March

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 3. About 3,990 remittances through International Money Transfer Systems (IMTS) were made from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan in March 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 1.93 billion tenge (about $4.3 million).

At the same time, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan conducted 33,870 IMTS transactions totaling 11.2 billion tenge, or roughly $25.2 million.

Thus, Uzbekistan ranks third in terms of money transfers from Kazakhstan and fourth in terms of money transfers to Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan’s share in the amount of remittances to/from Kazakhstan in March 2024 amounted to 9.6 percent and 18.9 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, the total volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 196,200 transactions worth 61.5 billion tenge (about $138 million) in March 2024.

Compared to February 2024 (187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge, or $135 million), there has been a 4.6 percent increase in the number of transfers and a 2 percent increase in the volume of transactions.
