ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 2. Over 1,410 money transfers from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made in March 2024, Trend reports.
The data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan shows that the total volume of the above transactions amounted to 922.1 million tenge (about $2.09 million).
Thus, Azerbaijan's share in the number of transactions and the volume of remittances from Kazakhstan in February amounted to 0.7 and 1.6 percent, respectively.
In addition, about 440 money transfer transactions from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan through IMTS were made for a total amount of 220.9 million tenge (about $501,322). Here, Azerbaijan’s share in the number of transactions and the volume of transfers amounted to 0.6 and 1.1 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the total volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 196,200 transactions worth 61.5 billion tenge (about $138 million) in March 2024.
Compared to February 2024 (187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge, or $135 million), there is an increase in the number of transfers by 4.6 percent and in the volume of transactions by 2 percent.
