BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Russia's Avtovaz plans to organize the assembly of the new Lada Vesta in Uzbekistan, President of the car producer Avtovaz Maxim Sokolov said during the international industrial exhibition "Innoprom. Central Asia", Trend reports via Uzbek media.
He noted that negotiations on the matter are actively underway with Uzbek partners.
"Together with our partner, we are actively considering immediate plans to restore the assembly of our cars. I would like to emphasize that this car will be the flagship model - the Lada Vesta, a model of the new generation," he said.
Sokolov pointed out that in the nearest future, the company considers expanding the localization of car assembly in Uzbekistan.
“We also plan to establish welding of the necessary car details in Uzbekistan, as well as the coloring of cars,” he added.
In September 2021, Avtovaz started the mass assembly of Lada cars together with the Uzbek company Rondell at the ADM Jissakh plant located, while later, production was suspended.
