TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 4. The price for a gold ingot of five grams in Uzbekistan has reached the mark of 4.24 million soums ($343.9) as December 4, 2023, Trend reports.
As per data by Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the set price of gold is currently as a new maximum level since the beginning of sales in 2020.
One gram of gold in Uzbekistan is currently estimated at 847,920 soums ($68.78), which is 1.2 percent increase compared to last week’s calculations.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of 2023, the price of gold in Uzbekistan has repeatedly updated records. In March, the value of the smallest ingot crossed the 3.8 million soums ($308) mark for the first time, and in early May it reached 3.9 million soums ($316).
According to the Central Bank, since 2020, people in Uzbekistan have purchased 255 kg of gold ingots.
The value of Uzbekistan’s non-monetary gold exports amounted to $6.87 billion from January through October of 2023.
As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, deliveries increased 2.3 times compared to the same period last year.
