TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 30. German Hyper Partners will build a photovoltaic power plant in Uzbekistan's Namangan region, Trend reports.
This is reflected in the decree signed by the president of Uzbekistan on measures to implement the project on the construction of a 500 MW solar photovoltaic power plant and overhead power lines in Pop district of the Namangan region.
According to the decree, it is planned to attract $350 million in investments to create a solar farm with a capacity of 500 MW. The plant will be constructed on a 1,200-hectare plot of land.
Hyper Partners set up Next Solar Energy Group Ltd. for the implementation of the project. The company will also provide a $30 million contract guarantee from a first-class bank.
Meanwhile, another solar power plant will be erected in the Pop District in collaboration with Tepelen Group Holding Limited. It will likewise cost $350 million with a capacity of 500 megawatts.
In addition, Uzbekistan and China Datang Overseas Investment Company will build a solar power plant with a capacity of 263 MW in the Buka district of the Tashkent region.
The Chinese company will also construct a power transmission line. The volume of foreign direct investment will amount to $150 million. The National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan will cover part of the expenses for the creation of power grids.
