Delegations from Iran and Syria have held talks in Moscow on the preparations for the Geneva 2 international conference, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said.
"We are now approaching the Geneva 2 conference. According to preliminary information received, the participation of some countries at the conference is defined. There are a number of discussions as to which countries are invited and those that will not," he said at a press conference at RIA Novosti on Nov.19.
According to the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, "this issue is important, but the most important matter is which Syrian side will express its readiness to participate at the conference."
The Syrian delegation is also in Moscow. On Nov.18 the delegation met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
