BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Aziz Nasirzadeh became Iran's new Minister of Defense, Trend reports.
According to information, today (August 21), Iran's parliament held a vote of confidence in the candidates proposed by new President Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the vote, Aziz Nasirzadeh was elected as Iran's new Defense Minister with 281 votes.
Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian presented the names of the proposed ministers for a vote of confidence to the Iranian parliament on August 11.
Aziz Nasirzadeh has served as Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces since 2021.
