Iran-China trade turnover falls 28% in 4 months

Trade turnover between Iran and China stood at $8.4 billion during the first four months of 2016, according to the latest statistics released by the Chinese Customs Administration.

The figure indicates a fall by 28 percent compared to the same period of 2015, which was $11.6 billion.

China's exports to Iran in the first four months of 2016 amounted to $4.53 billion, 24.2 percent less, year-on-year.

The country also imported $3.86 billion worth of goods from Iran in that period, 32.6 percent less compared to the first four months of 2015.

The exports from China to Iran in April 2016 valued about $1.27 billion, while the imports amounted to $1.18 billion.

The trade turnover between the two countries was $51 billion in 2014, 31 percent more compared to the preceding year.

The figure stood at $34 billion in 2015, indicating a 34-percent plunge.
