TEHRAN, Iran, September 19. Iran is seeking to invest in Afghanistan's mines and infrastructure, chairman of Iran – Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce Hossein Salimi told Trend.
Investment in rich mines and mineral reserves of Afghanistan and extracting iron ore stone could be profitable for Iranian investors, he said.
"Several Iranian mining companies and Iran Mines Union have started getting engaged in mining activities in Afghanistan and preparing infrastructure for investment in mines," he noted.
Salimi also noted that China and Pakistan have made considerable investments in Afghanistan’s mines and Iran could lose its opportunity, if it delays investing.
According to the official, lack of consistent regulations and security in Afghanistan created obstacle for investors who are not incline to invest in unstable environment.
