BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The production of nine major Iranian iron ore pellet companies increased by 16 percent in the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period of the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through February 20, 2023), the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said, Trend reports.
According to the information, the production of iron ore pellets by enterprises for 11 months amounted to about 35.9 million (35,871,695) tons. However, the figure was 30.9 million (30,923,401) tons in the same period of the previous year.
The information added that Gol Gohar Company produced about 11.2 million tons, Middle East Mining Development Company - 4.88 million tons, Gohar-Zamin Company - 4.87 million tons, Chadormalu Company - 3.57 million tons, and Central Iron Ore Company - 3.54 million tons of iron ore pellets.
Meanwhile, Sangan Steel Mining Industry Company produced 3.47 million tons, Sangan Opal Parsian Company - 2.7 million tons, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company - 1.32 million tons, and Sabanur Company - 346,000 tons of iron ore pellets.
To note, Iran produces an average of 50 million tons of iron ore pellets annually.
