( Prime-News ) - Gela Bezhuashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, who is currently visiting the US, met with Condoleezza Rice, The US Secretary of State, in Washington.
Prime-News was told at the Foreign Ministry of Georgia that the sides discussed the issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and the United States with focus on the positive dynamic of this cooperation and the strategic character of partnership.
The talking points included, inter alia, Georgia's integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures. The US Secretary of State pledged full support for Georgia in this direction.
The sides also discussed effective cooperation between the two countries in the security field and the necessity of its further consolidation.
Bezhuashvili provided his American colleague with information on the democratic reforms and reconstruction processes taking place in Georgia.
The sides highlighted the situation in Iraq and exchanged views on other international issues.
