Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.6 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /

Mutual relations between the U.S. and Georgia entered a new, more powerful level of development, Senator John McCain, who attended the Munich Conference on Security Policy as a member of the U.S. delegation, told Georgian journalists.

McCain stressed the importance of a meeting between Barack Obama and Mikheil Saakashvili, and mentioned a number of issues discussed by the presidents.

"We had a wonderful meeting with President Saakashvili in Washington, which reaffirmed the inviolability of our relations," he stressed.

Mr McCain called "very important" the fact that at the meeting in the White House, presidents of Georgia and the United States discussed free trade between the two countries.

"The last act on defense affairs adopted by the Congress and U.S. Senate makes us competent to provide Georgia with defense weapons. Therefore, I think that our relations are excellent," McCain said.
