Reports that Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi may have been wounded and have fled Tripoli are credible, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said Friday, dpa reported.
"We don't have any element (to verify) Gaddafi's current fate," Frattini was quoted as saying by the ANSA newsagency at a conference in La Bagnaia near Siena.
"I tend to accredit as true the phrase by the (Catholic) Bishop of Tripoli Monsignor (Giovanni Innocenzo) Martinelli who has told us that Gaddafi is most probably outside Tripoli and that he is injured," Frattini added.
