Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi on Wednesday opposed calls to withdraw peace observers from Syria, dpa reported.
"We are committed to keeping the observer mission there for one month," he told reporters in Cairo.
He said he was waiting for a report from the head of the observer team assessing the Syrian government's compliance with a plan to end a crackdown on opponents.
