Roaside bombings in the riot southern Afghanistan have claimed three foreign soldiers combating militants on Friday, said statements of the alliances issued on Saturday, Xinhua reported.
"An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member was killed as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device ( IED) strike by insurgents in southern Afghanistan yesterday," said an ISAF statement.
However, "the absolute commitment of this service member shines like a beacon to guide us as we pursue peace for the people of Afghanistan,"said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF Spokesperson.
In another incident, two service member with the U.S. -led Coalition forces were killed in an IED attack on a convoy in southern Afghanistan at approximately 10:00 a.m. local time on the same day Friday, said a Coalition statement.
It added that the incident is currently under investigation and names of the service members are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Over 70,000 international troops have been serving in the post- Taliban country fighting militants and helping with reconstruction for which over 144 foreign soldiers have been killed so far this year.
