Ahmadinejad's 'National Service' project not has any potential: Iranian experts

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 22 / Trend , T.Jafarov/

At present there is not any potential to implement the National Service project by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and involve all professionals to participate in the government.

"During the first term in office, instead of involving capable people and professionals in responsible positions, Ahmadinejad appointed his close people to key positions," the Professor of the Glasgow University, Iranian Expert in London, Reza Taghizadeh told Trend . He said Ahmadinejad's project has a propagandist nature, and has no potential to be implemented.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is implementing a project "National Service". Under the project, before launching a new government, the Iranian president calls all officials, interested in helping in the government to cooperation to improve the quality of governance, IRNA reported.

The Iranian presidential administration reported that all professionals who wish to assist the government in successful governing the country will be invited at the first phase of the "National Service" project. In the second stage, the president will establish a special commission, and all offers will be considered.

Taghizadeh believes the incumbent President Ahmadinejad is the president who after the Iranian Islamic Revolution has made many changes in the government.

During Ahmadinejad's first presidency, some 20 officials were dismissed. Some politicians from the Conservative camp accused Ahmadinejad that he appointed his deputies and ministers, not without consulting with them. Basically, the Iranian president was accused that when appointing people to senior posts, he was guided by kinship.

"Over last 30 years, the Islamic Republic regime has introduced special policies for the management of the government. According to the ad hoc policies, the persons who played a role in the implementation of the Islamic Revolution are chosen for it and their capabilities had no special significance," the Chairman of the Urosevik Research Foundation of London, Piruz Mujtahidzadeh told Trend . Mujtahidzadeh does not believe that Ahmadinejad's National Service project will employ the people, regardless their past political affiliation. "To realize such a project, Iran should carry out substantial changes in the management practices," Mujtahidzadeh said.

The Iranian president's inauguration will be held on Aug. 8. The new government will launch its activity after Ahmadinejad's oath-taking ceremony at the parliament. The president should submit the full composition of the new cabinet by late September. Presidential candidates in the last elections Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi do not recognize legitimacy of Ahmadinejad's government. They claim that the results of the June 12 presidential elections were falsified.

Taghizadeh believes that to maintain the power, Ahmadinejad can appoint some people from the opposite camp to the post in the government, but in reality, the structure of government will not change. "If the government gives preference to relatives, there is no room for specialists," said Taghizadeh.

Vice-President of Iran, head of tourism and protection of cultural monuments Isfandiar Rahim Mashaee will now hold the post of Vice President on July 17. This decision was met with protests from the ruling conservatives. The protesters demanded the immediate dismissal Mashaee from the office. Earlier, saying that "Iran is a friend of the peoples of the United States and Israel, Mashaee caused a scandal. In addition, he is the father Ahmadinejad's daughter-in-law.

Mujtahidzadeh said Iran needs implementation of the National Service project. Iran has a lot of natural resources and talented people. "If the Iranian government unites these two factors, it will favor a rapid development and prosperity of the country. But I do not believe in execution of the project," said the expert.
