Workers on a Norwegian North Sea drilling platform had to abandon the site Saturday due to a gas leak, reported DPA.
A total of 123 workers were evacuated by helicopter to neighbouring platforms.
Only an emergency crew would remain behind to man the Visund platform, which lies north-west of the city of Bergen, reported the Sola emergency rescue facility.
State oil company Statoil, which owns the platform, would not comment on the extent of, or reason for the leak. A "serious" leak was reported on the same platform in 2006, a year after it went into service.
