Türkiye's Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir achieves significant passenger turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The number of passengers arriving at Adnan Menderes Airport in Türkiye's Izmir increased by 15 percent year-on-year to 2.2 million in March 2024, the data of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.

Additionally, it was noted that in March 2024, the airport's passenger turnover for domestic flights increased by 8 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 1.6 million people, while for international flights it increased by 41 percent and amounted to 613,244 people.

The airport's cargo turnover in March 2024 amounted to 29,216 tons, an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

However, the airport's cargo turnover for domestic flights in March 2024 increased by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 19,062 tons, and for international flights, it increased by 23 percent compared to the same period and amounted to 10,153 tons.

According to the information, the number of flights from the airport in March 2024 increased by 8 percent compared to March 2023 and amounted to 15,176.

Meanwhile, the number of flights performed on domestic flights increased by one percent and amounted to 10,819, and international flights increased by 34 percent and amounted to 4,357.

Passenger traffic in all airports in Türkiye in March this year amounted to 43.8 million people, and cargo turnover was 1 million.

To note, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye in 2023 was 214 million people, and cargo turnover was 4.2 million tons.
