Around 350 buildings will be demolished in tourist town of Bodrum, south-west Turkey, Sabah newspaper reported today.
According to the newspaper, some illegal tourist sites are also expected to be demolished in Bodrum.
According to the newspaper, the buildings, planned to be demolished, do not meet the current building standards.
Turkey annually loses more than $10 billion because of illegal tourism, the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies said earlier.
According to the association, tax evasion worth $15 billion is observed in Turkey every year resulting in a weakening of the economy.
The association also reported that at present, illegal tourism is well developed in almost all regions of Turkey where unregistered tour firms operate.
