Azerbaijanis Residing in Georgia to Support Labour Party: Head of Georgia’s Labour Party

Georgia, Tbilisi /corr. Trend N.Kirskhalia / "If am elected the President, the understanding of national minorities and national majority will not be in existence in Georgia, all citizens of Georgia will reside in absolutely equal conditions," the Head of Labour Party of Georgia, candidate for presidency, Shalva Natellashvili, stated in his interview with Trend.

"Full religious freedom will exist for Muslim although they are shiit or sunni. It will prevent the understandings such as national minorities," he said.

According to Natellashvili, learning Georgian language will be obligatory because it is unacceptable that the citizens of Georgia do not know State language, especially it is impossible to hold a State position without knowledge of State language. "However, it should not be done under pressure. It needs to establish Sunday schools where the representatives of other peoples can teach their native languages," the candidate said.

"Everybody should know Georgian language and I think that it should not take offence at the Azerbaijanis because if I would be a citizen of this country, I would consider obligatory for me to know Azeri in which great Vagif spoke," he said.
