Russia Should Carry out All Undertaken Obligations: US Secretary of State

Georgia, Tbilisi, 20 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Russia should carry out all undertaken obligations and return its armed forces to the position dating 6 August, Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State, said at the end of the meeting of the NATO member-countries' Council of Foreign Ministers held in Brussels.

"All military units from should return to the Russian territory from South Ossetia and Abkhazia," Rice stressed.

Rice hailed the document, developed by the European Union (EU), on solution of crisis and stressed that it was the guarantor of situation in Europe. "We will not allow realizing of new separating lines in Europe," Rice said.

The Secretary of State supported alliance's decision to establish the Georgia-NATO commission and stated that it was a political body, which would intensify bilateral relations and enable Georgia's further integration to NATO. "It is a serious step to send NATO experts to Georgia, who will study a real damage, which done to this country," the US Secretary of State said.

It is an important decision to send about 100 OSCE observers to the conflict zone with Russia, Rice believes. She stressed that international forces would be established for Abkhazia and South Ossetia soon. "They will be neutral forces, which are necessary for regions, where Russia became a conflict side, and it is obvious," Rice said.
