Georgian patriarch to receive treatment in Germany

Georgian Patriarch Ilia II left for Germany to receive medical treatment on Feb. 4. He urged Georgia to pray for the country's unity and health before his flight at the Tbilisi airport.

"Only prayers will strengthen our nation and bring unity," Ilia II said.

Members of the clergy and religious representatives saw the patriarch off at the airport.

The Georgian patriarch's health is satisfactory.

Georgian and German doctors decided to send him to Germany for treatment, the Georgian patriarchate reported.

Ilia II will undergo medical examinations at the Munich clinic.
