Kazakhstan, Astana, Feb. 9 / Trend , K.Konirova/

The Kazakh parliament began creating Kazakh-language tests for officials on Jan. 1, the parliament said.

The measure is being made in line with a presidential decree implementing a 2001-2010 state program to develop languages. The Shayahmetova Republican Organizational and Methodical Center was chosen to develop the tests at the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry.

"With the center's assistance, the parliament will create test programs to determine how well officials know the state language on Feb. 11. Governmental officials will undergo initial testing on Feb. 12-13. It will allow us to clarify the level of knowledge of parliamentarians," the parliament said.
