Iran considered Tajikistan's natural strategic partner: President Rahmon

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received Iranian Vice President and Chairman of the National Youth Organization of Iran Khoji Ali Akbari on May 18, NIAT Khovar quoted Tajik president's press service as saying.

The meeting focused on Tajikistan-Iran cooperation.  

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said he is sure that Khoji Ali Akbari's visit to Tajikistan will give an impetus to search of new fields of mutually profitable cooperation. "We think this process is very important as Iran is considered Tajikistan's natural strategic partner."

The president and Ali Akbari said they are satisfied with realization of strategic partnership in the sphere of tunnel building and construction of Sangtuda-2 hydro power station and are confident that the cooperation in science, education, culture and information, entrepreneurship, health, sports and tourism will develop further.

The sides welcomed development and realization of one-year or three-year programs of cooperation by the respective Tajik and Iranian youth organizations.

The meeting also focused on other issues of mutual interest.
