Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 16 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Setting a simplified visa regime with the EU will facilitate the travel of Georgian citizens to European countries, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Tornike Gordadze said today.
He expressed hope that the procedures will be expanded and in a few years Georgia will have a visa-free regime with Europe.
According to Gordadze, this process is of great importance for Georgia in terms of the country's approximation with the EU and European citizens.
Gordadze also touched upon the issue of readmission and explained that the Georgian government will ensure the return of illegal Georgian migrants to their homeland.
The European parliament approved an agreement on simplifying the visa regime with Georgia and the readmission of illegal immigrants on Dec. 14.
