President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today accepted credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Georgia Teymuraz Sharashenidze, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
During the conversation, the Head of State expressed assurance that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations would continue to develop successfully during the Georgian ambassador`s tenure.
President Ilham Aliyev underlined Azerbaijan and Georgia are neighbors, friends and fraternal countries, adding the countries share a number of historical values. The Head of State hailed the level and dynamics of bilateral relations and highlighted the importance of joint projects in all fields. The Azerbaijani leader noted the active work is to be done to implement projects scheduled in the years to come, saying new areas for cooperation will be explored for joint activity in the two countries and region. The Head of State noted political, economic and humanitarian relationship between Azerbaijan and Georgia is well developed. President Aliyev highlighted the importance of bilateral relations for both peoples as well as regional cooperation and security.
The Georgian ambassador said working as an ambassador in a historically close country is responsible work to do.
He vowed to spare no efforts to strengthen and deepen relations between the two countries.
